Two days ago Eliane pulled herself up to standing all by herself for the first time. She's pushed herself up before, meaning leaning over on my leg or something, but not pulled herself up on something that was higher than her waist or there abouts. She's not cruising yet, but she did pull herself up several times to day. She'll take a few little steps while she's up, but they're more sort of leaning towards something and falling along than deliberately walking along the edge of the couch (which is what she's been pulling herself up on, mostly).
Then yesterday, more significantly I think, she started to crawl. She hasn't really mastered it yet. She shuffles her back legs a bit, and I don't think she's quite figured out the freedom it is about to give her. Mostly today she was still just sitting moreorless in one place, crawling a 'step' or two to retrieve something, but then sitting up again (or belly flopping in order to have hands free to pick up whatever toy had escaped her). But when coaxed she has crawled a couple of metres at a time, so she can do it. I imagine in another couple of days there'll be no stopping her.
