I've realised that what I need is to get myself a grant of about A$25000 a year tax-free (or after tax) to write two days a week. With a little childcare help (from, say my mother, or a child care swap with a friend like I used to do with Liam) I could maybe even do three days a week, once Kaely was a little older.
That way Chris can work 3-4 days a week, I can work 2-3 days, and we can still have 1-2 day weekends together. At the moment we only get weekends together for short periods, like now when I am on a break from uni. In two weeks I'll be back to writing all weekend (that is, Sunday & Monday - Chris Rolfs Saturdays).
Now I just need to find myself a patron....
